Ura Hedgecock
MULDROW - Ura Mae Hedgecock, 88, of Muldrow died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was born Aug. 28, 1913, in Okmulgee, Okla. She was a 1931 graduate of Okmulgee High School and received a bachelor's degree from East Central University in Ada, Okla., in 1941. She was a homemaker and a retired school teacher after 29 years and a member of First United Methodist Church in Muldrow. She was the widow of James Leon "Dude" Hedgecock.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church in Muldrow with burial at Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.
She is survived by two sons, Jack Smith of Muldrow and Donald Smith of Tulsa; a sister, Dixie Krueger of McHenry, Ill.; a brother, Joseph Purvine of Henryetta, Okla.; four grandchildren, Reginald Malain and Donald James Smith, both of Tulsa, Tamara Smith of Oklahoma City and Natalie Rita Pritchett of Turley, Okla.; and four great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
All children were adopted by other families and their whereabouts are unknown.
