Lena May Bovard, 90, of Torrington, died on April 27, 1999, at the Torrington Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 30, 1999, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel, with the Pastor John Wilhelm officiating. Burial will be in Colorado.
Memorials directed to the Gideon Bible Society would be appreciated by the family. The Colyer Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.
She was born on May 16, 1908, in Bristow, Neb., the daughter of Mark and Emma (Hoover) Purviance. She grew up and attended school in Lynch, Neb. She later moved to Missouri and then to Denver, Colo. She married William Bovard on May 13, 1933, in Monument, Colo. The couple lived in several places in Colorado but mostly in the Monument area. Mr. Bovard died in 1981, and Lena moved to Torrington in 1990, to live with her niece and her husband, Virginia and Reo Radford.
She was affiliated with the Berean Bible Church. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 12 brothers and sisters.
